Pairing Your Linkly Pinpad

Connect your Linkly EFTPOS payment terminal to the Next Experience POS in a few minutes.

Before you start

  • Your Linkly username and password, provided by Linkly or your bank when your merchant facility was set up.
  • A Linkly-supported payment terminal, powered on and connected to the internet.
  • A device logged in to the Next Experience platform with permission to manage accessories.

Step 1 — Put the pinpad into pairing mode

On the payment terminal, open the menu and select ConfigurePair with POS (on most terminals this is under Settings or the Linkly menu). The terminal will display a pairing code. Keep this code visible — it is only valid for a short time.

Step 2 — Create a Linkly accessory in the POS

In the Next Experience platform, go to AccessoriesCreate. Choose the type Linkly, give the accessory a name (for example “Front Counter Pinpad”), and select the device the pinpad belongs to.

Step 3 — Enter your pairing details

In the accessory's Linkly section, enter your Linkly username, password, and the pair code currently shown on the pinpad, then press Pair with Linkly.

Step 4 — Confirm the pairing

When pairing succeeds, a secret value appears in the form — this means the POS and pinpad are now linked. Save the accessory to store the pairing. The pinpad will return to its idle screen.

Step 5 — Take a payment

Open the Point of Sale, add an item to the sale, and choose the Linkly tender. The amount is sent to the pinpad and live prompts from the terminal appear on screen. Once the customer pays, the tender is added to the sale automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • Pairing fails: pair codes expire quickly. Generate a fresh code on the pinpad and try again, and double-check the username and password.
  • Pinpad not responding during a sale: confirm the terminal is online, then retry the payment. If a payment was interrupted, the POS automatically checks the result with Linkly when you return to the Point of Sale and credits the sale if the customer paid.
  • Need to re-pair: repeat the steps above with a new pairing code. The new pairing replaces the old one for that accessory.
